Desi Sharp Brumit

Desi was born and raised in Oklahoma as a United Methodist PK (Preacher’s Kid). As a result, she describes herself as home-full because she has lived all over our great state and has come to know and love the many people and places Oklahoma has to offer, and our many expressions of United Methodism.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Oklahoma City University and a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology. She is currently pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in Non-Profit Church Leadership from Dakota Wesleyan University.

She worked for many years as a youth director in United Methodist settings before answering her call to ordained ministry. She has served churches in Boston, MA as an intern pastor, as Associate Pastor at Broken Arrow First UMC, and is now the Senior Pastor at Goodrich Memorial UMC in Norman, OK.

Desi is passionate about teaching and preaching God’s incredible love, and she has a great love for meeting people from any and everywhere to share that love with them. She enjoys reading, traveling, Mexican food, and spending time with her family, particularly her husband Jason – not necessarily in that order.

If you would like to contact Pastor Desi, please email her at pastor.desisharp@gmail.com or call the church at 405-321-0975.

Director of Children's Ministries

Sherry McCurley

I was baptized at Goodrich and actively participated until I graduated college from UCO in Edmond with an Oral Communication Education degree. I met my husband, Steve, in the theatre dept. at UCO. A year after graduation, Steve and I were married at Goodrich then moved away to teach. After many years of teaching, earning a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, raising a beautiful daughter, leading a Girl Scout troop from Daisys through Seniors, working on several church staffs in children’s and youth ministries, I am happy to say we have retired to South OKC and have re-joined Goodrich. It is wonderful to be back home.

I love working with children and families. Their creativity and energy never ceases to amaze me. I hope to help the children grow in their knowledge of Jesus and guide them along their faith journey.

If you are looking for a caring and loving church home, this is it! I look forward to meeting you and your children.

Jesus said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14
