Visiting Goodrich

Welcome! We would love for you to join us for one of our worship services. We think you'll discover the excitement, joy, and love of God through the people of God and through the music and message.

Let us get to know you.

Meet Goodrich

Every church has its own personality, and you are looking for a church that will make you feel at home.  Here are a few things that give Goodrich its unique personality:

  • We are a multi-generational church. Children, teens, and adults worship and serve together.
  • We are a diverse church. You will find socio-economic, racial, and theological diversity in our community.
  • We are a first name church. Titles are important but everyone is important at Goodrich; nothing is more important than your name.
  • We are a relationship church. We seek to share life together with each other, and we welcome new friends.
  • We think it is important to be God’s presence in our community. Our ministry, outreach, and ministry programs seek to be a witness of God’s love to our neighborhood and our community.

Choose a worship service

Sunday @ 8:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary

If you are interested in a quieter, more contemplative worship experience, this is the service for you. It is the perfect way to begin your Sunday if you have a busy day planned.

Sunday @ 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary

Do you like the buzz of children, the sound of a great choir, and a worship experience that is filled with its own lively personality?  The 11:00 a.m. worship experience is what you are looking for.

Don’t worry about how to dress.  Wear your Sunday best or whatever makes you feel comfortable.  You will find someone who is dressed just like you.

Get directions

From Robinson Street, turn south on Fay Avenue and turn west on Hayes Street.  Click for map.

Where to go when you get here

Parking designated for visitors and people who need handicapped parking is available in front of the church and the main parking lot is across the street.

All entries are on the north side of the church. If you are attending worship or a study group, enter the doors on the east end. If you are attending activity in the Family Life Center, enter the doors on the west end.

Once you enter

You will be greeted in the lobby.  The greeters will answer your questions, point you in the right direction, and give you a packet of information about the church and our ministries.

As you enter one of the services an usher will hand you a weekly bulletin. Please let an usher know if you have special seating needs such as a wheelchair or hearing aid. There will also be a friendship folder in each pew. Please complete the attendance form inside so we know you stopped by! We hope you enjoy our church community and look forward to seeing you soon!

If you have children

We look forward to meeting all of you!  We offer nursery care for children who are newborn to age 2, but the nursery is voluntary.  Our children are part of our worship service.  In the 11:00 a.m. service, children come to the front for Mystery Box, and then they are dismissed to children's church.  Children's church is voluntary and some children prefer to remain in the sanctuary with their parents.

If you are interested in Sunday school

There are classes for all ages. Sunday school meets from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Adults can choose among classes doing Bible studies, book studies and topical studies.

Introducing yourself

You will be welcomed during the service, but you will not be singled out.  We do not ask our visitors to stand up, raise their hand, or anything else, which would cause you to be identified as a visitor.  We hope you will fill out the attendance form with your contact information so we can follow-up on your visit by mail or email.

Communion

We celebrate Holy Communion at both services the first Sunday of each month. United Methodists practice “open-table” communion. You do not need to be a member of our church to participate. Anyone who desires to grow closer to Christ and one another may receive the sacrament.
